HydGene Renewables was recognised among the Top 18 global finalists — and Top 3 in the Climate Tech category — at the SVG Ventures | THRIVE Global Impact Challenge, held in Silicon Valley, California in October.
The summit brought together more than 400 global leaders and innovators from across the agri-food ecosystem for a week of collaboration, innovation, and connection. With 35 expert speakers and 18 Global Impact Challenge finalists, the event highlighted technologies shaping the future of sustainable food and agriculture — from regenerative farming and decarbonisation to AI and circular bioeconomy solutions. HydGene also joined the event as part of the Investment NSW Ag-Tech Delegation, representing the strength of emerging Ag-tech innovation from New South Wales.

“Recognition is always nice, but the real value has been building global partnerships to advance our biological hydrogen technology across multiple sectors,” said HydGene CEO Dr Louise Brown. “The week reinforced how crucial food security and decentralised innovation have become as we adapt to a changing climate.”
A central theme of the summit was collaboration — how partnerships between startups, corporates, investors, and producers can accelerate the path from discovery to market. For HydGene, this message resonated strongly, reflecting the company’s approach to working with partners across the fertiliser, energy, and agriculture sectors to deliver practical, on-site clean hydrogen solutions.
“We met so many innovative companies developing practical, scalable solutions across ag-tech,” Dr Brown added. “It’s time to look beyond the trends and start backing the technologies that can actually make an impact.”

HydGene extends thanks to the Investment NSW team for their ongoing support in showcasing NSW innovation on the global stage. Highlights from the summit available here.
