BASF’s Dr Walter J. Koch joins HydGene Renewables as a Scientific Advisor

HydGene Renewables is proud to announce that Dr. Walter J. Koch, Director of Biochemical Technology at BASF, has formally joined the company as a strategic advisor.
With a distinguished career spanning decades in industrial biotechnology and biochemical manufacturing, Dr. Koch brings to HydGene world-class expertise as the company advances toward field deployment of its hydrogen biocatalyst technology.

HydGene’s proprietary biocatalyst platform enables the on-site, on-demand conversion of waste biomass into green hydrogen - an affordable, circular alternative to fossil-derived hydrogen. Dr. Koch has been instrumental in guiding HydGene’s transition from bench-top research to scaled manufacturing, ensuring key milestones are delivered with a strong focus on industrial rigour.
